Honouring Lineage.
To honour lineage is to walk in reverence for those who have come before, to recognise, respect and revere the elders, story tellers and wisdom keepers whose voices echo through the stories we carry.
To keep the seed they planted in our hearts alive and nurture it well.
Tend to the flame they have passed to us with dignity and honour.
Knowing the true gift it is to hold the essence of the evolution of culture in our palms and breath new life into it,
Tend to it’s becoming,
Nurture it’s sprouting open through us,
As it grows to where it has not yet gone before;
While knowing how deeply rooted it is in the soil of our elders love, wisdom and life experience.
Love grows higher with deep roots.
To honour lineage is to honour reciprocity with all life.
When we are passed the baton,
given a sacred flame of wisdom and we rise to carry it,
We give our elders the recognition, honouring and blessing to let go into the next spiral of their life’s journey.
They give and we receive.
They empty their wisdom into us and we are filled with inspiration.
We begin to give what they have sparked in us and they release with grace what they can no longer carry as life beacons them deeper along the journey home.
We dance the sacred dance.
Of becoming and unbecoming.
Learning and teaching.
Following and leading.
Allowing the flow of living culture to move through us,
Evolving naturally from one generation to the next next,
Ever expanding & evolving,
Yet carried by the steady rhythm of humility, reverence & preservation of essence when lineage is honoured & we give thanks for all those who have given themselves to the preservation of culture, & the thriving of life.
